Plan a bright future in uncertain times, taking the International English Examination

Keep in mind the minimum band score before sitting for the English proficiency test

The current situation might have slowed down the world somewhat, but sure did not stop it. So, why stop your plans? Technology is the answer to most problems, and it has proven its worth, especially during a current pandemic. Today, people are working from home; teachers are teaching from home, and students are attending classes from home, all this has been possible because of technology. It saved countless jobs and kept students enrolled in ongoing classes. Similarly, if you were planning to go abroad for education, you can still plan your education abroad. Though it would take some time to catch the plane for your favourite destination, but it wont delay your education. Even today, top international universities are delivering lectures online. All you need to do is take the right English proficiency test and begin your journey.

Post-study, the work visa plans are stills the same in most countries. They are offering partial study online from your home country, and for rest, you can go abroad and continue your study, followed by the same years of work visa. So, choose the right international English examination out of various international English exams and apply for application in your favourite university.

Here is how to prepare for English language proficiency test?

The first step is to take the mock test for the chosen global language assessment. Doing so, you would get to know how much you need to work on your English skills. Define your goals at this stage only. Now, how to define goals? Here your major goal would be scoring the minimum band score required for desired visa type. Be very clear about the minimum score required to apply for college application and study visa. Keep that in mind as a goal and work towards achieving it.

Focus on each module. Most English language assessment test and exams are based on four modules. These four modules of test for English language learners are listening, reading, writing and speaking. Now, remember the band score you get in each module and average of band scores in all modules, both counts. Lets take an example to understand it better. To apply a study visa for Canada, for undergrad or diploma programme, you need a minimum 5.5 band score in each module and minimum average band score 6. Here, if you get average band score 6 and in even one module you get a band score of lets say 4, you wont be eligible. Furthermore, for higher education, the band score would vary, and for major universities, the band score may vary. So, you need to do your proper research before defining your goal for English language testing and assessment.

Now, the question is how to get English language certificate?

As discussed above, it is not just about getting the certificate of English language examination. In order to apply for the desired visa, you need to keep in mind the minimum score as well.

The key is to practice each module-

To pass the right language assessment test, you must practice its every module. Now, you must be wondering how to do that. Well, the best way to get familiar with the format of each module is by solving the English language assessment test sample papers.

In fact, most institutes for language testing and assessment preparation also use the mock tests, where students are given test sample papers to solve. You would be required to write down the answers in writing, listening and reading sub-test. Whereas in English speaking assessment test, you would be given a cue card and based on the topic mentioned on the cue card, the interlocutor or interviewer would ask you questions to check your speaking skills.

The main motive of most exams is to check a candidates listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills as these skills are vital and essential to study or work in English speaking countries.
